Among the poker rooms holding regularly scheduled tournaments with buy-ins above $50 are
The Mirage, The Orleans,
Sam's Town, and the Plaza.
Of course, be sure to check out Binion's Horseshoe.....home
of the annual "World Series of Poker"!!
Many rooms host smaller stakes tourneys, including Stardust,
Sunset Station, Nevada
Palace, Luxor, Mandalay
Bay, The Orleans, Sam's
Town, Circus Circus and the New Frontier.
Sunset Station's poker room was recently moved and expanded, and now offers Crazy Pineapple poker. The
Plaza and Sam's Town all added new no-limit or pot-limit poker games. (Note
from one of our readers:
Hi there. Thought I might drop you a note to let you know
that I frequently play at the poker room at Sam's Town hotel and have never seen
or been able to start any games of pot-limit or no-limit poker. Mostly the
"idea" is there, they make a list after tournaments, but the game never starts.).............
Excalibur comment:
I stayed at Excalibur last year, and they had a
nice friendly little poker room there. They had both Texas hold 'em (2-5) and
7-card stud (1-5). They also had a "bad beat" jackpot which looked like a bit
of a tidy sum. Very enjoyable....

A website visitor pointed out
the following:
The Monte Carlo has a very nice poker room. It's not large, about 8-10
tables, but a very nice atmosphere and friendly dealers. It's tucked away
in a room in the back corner of the casino.
Corporate poker
(for lack of a better name, the bigger joints) The biggest casino operators in Las Vegas have different strategies when it comes to poker.
MGM Mirage operates two of the largest and most upscale poker rooms in the city, at
Bellagio
( "the Poker Place") and
The Mirage.
The largest of the big four national operators, CAESARS (used to be Park Place Entertainment), operates only a small poker area in its Flamingo Las Vegas casino.
