When it comes to track talk, do you sometimes feel like everyone is speaking a foreign language?  Now you can be "bi-lingual" too!

If you hear your trainer tell the jockey to "Blow out your horse 3/8's of a mile" you'll know he's not telling him to shoot your horse at the 3/8's pole.  The language of the track is fun....so relax with it and enjoy.

Why Not Be A Trainer?

If you own several horses and are paying a trainer day-pay, you may want to get your license and handle your own training, or perhaps start your own stable.  The cost of this course is minimal compared to the bills of just owning a horse.

Now there is a home study course that will enlighten you to all the phases of the Trainer's Test.  It's been newly revised and formatted on the advice of Winner's Way graduates.

We offer two lessons: the first lesson consists of information on conformation, body parts, ligaments and tendons, ailments, medication, feeding and general health.  Much of this material is necessary for the Veterinarian portion of your Trainer's Test.

The second lesson covers the rules of racing, racing terminology, reading a condition book and figuring weight allowances.  This is a critical part of race horse training and the Stewards are concerned that you thoroughly know the rules.

Training:
There is a newly added segment on training two year olds, older horses, stakes horses and claimers.  Through close correspondence and a survey of previous students we know more of where the Winner's Way need to expand.  But that's not all....

AT LAST, by request,

A VIDEO!!!

.....a full color 26 minute how-to on bandaging and tying tongues, a description of equipment (e.g. D-bit, ring bit, over check, burr, blinkers), training, feeding , and of course, care.  Also, there is a step by step explanation on saddling for a race.  Many experts in the field of racing were were interviewed and gave their advice on backside procedures.

1. A step by step guide to the
    procedure of getting licensed.

    inquire about licensing.
