The old-style lounge is one of Vegas' best-kept secrets,
and landmark as their first "Bootlegger" restaurant opened in 1949.....The
menu offers an exceptional choice of chicken and veal dishes, along with
their classic spaghetti and meatballs. When we dined here recently....six
people all ordered different items from the main menu, from stuffed
manicotti, chicken dishes, to their specialty Saltimbocca a la Blackie,
which I had and can personally say was very good and will now be one of my
favorite dishes... Everyone said the food was excellent...the service not so
great....we were always lacking water, drinks, bread, etc...and it was a
long time between visits by our waiter to see how we were doing, or to take
the order, etc... The restaurant was busy... Once we got the salads, it was
quite a wait after the salads were finished (15-20 minutes) before we
received our main dishes....worth the wait, so be patient...go later in the
evening (after 7:30PM), make a reservation, ask for one of the wonderful
booths....(booths are just like the ones you would see in any of the Vegas
mega-resort showrooms, just like the old days)...enjoy the music...and the
terrific food...
